GRAND HAVEN — Activists in Ottawa County are preparing to join a third wave of nationwide "No Kings" demonstrations in late March, with multiple protests and community events planned to oppose the Trump Administration.
The events, led locally by Indivisible Grand Haven/Tri-Cities, is part of a coordinated effort by the national No Kings Coalition. Organizers report that more than 1,000 demonstrations have been confirmed across the U.S., including more than 80 events in Michigan scheduled for March 28.
"This event is expected to be even larger than in October 2025, as more and more Americans rise up against increasing authoritarianism and federal abuses," the organization stated in a Feb. 17 release.

In Ottawa County, the primary "No Kings" protest is set for 1-3 p.m. Saturday, March 28, at the intersection of Robbins Road and 172nd Avenue in Grand Haven. The location served as a central hub for the movement’s previous iterations in June and October 2025, which drew thousands of participants across the region.
A separate rally is scheduled for noon-2 p.m. the same day at Centennial Park, 250 Central Ave., Holland.
To prepare for the demonstrations, local organizers will host a "Protest Sign Making & Q&A" session 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 26, at the Loutit District Library in Grand Haven. Organizers intend to provide supplies and information for residents looking to participate in the national day of action.
During the March 26 and March 28 events, activists will collect shelf-stable food donations. The items are designated for the "Little Free Pantry" at the Unicorn Tavern in Grand Haven and the Loutit Library’s donation area.
