Allendale driver seriously injured, ejected in late-night Robinson Twp. rollover crash
A 24-year-old Allendale man was seriously injured and hospitalized late Wednesday night after a two-vehicle crash on 104th Avenue that left one car rolled over and closed the roadway for several hours.
ROBINSON TWP. — A 24-year-old Allendale man was seriously injured and hospitalized late Wednesday night after a two-vehicle crash on 104th Avenue that left one car rolled over and closed the roadway for several hours.
Emergency crews were dispatched to just south of Buchanan Street at approximately 10:16 p.m. July 15, following reports of a severe personal injury crash.
According to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office, the incident began when a 2000 Subaru sedan, driven by the Allendale man, was traveling south on 104th Avenue. After overtaking a group of vehicles, the Subaru slowed down and began pulling off toward the shoulder.
As a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 20-year-old Twin Lake man, attempted to pass the Subaru, the two vehicles collided.
The impact of the collision sent the Subaru into a roll, and the 24-year-old driver, the sole occupant, was ejected.
The Subaru's driver suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for emergency treatment. The driver and passenger of the Chevrolet Silverado escaped the crash without injury.

First responders closed 104th Avenue for approximately three hours to clear debris and investigate the scene. The roadway has since been fully reopened.
The cause of the collision remains under active investigation by the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.
Also responding to the scene were the Robinson Township Fire Department, Allendale Township Fire and Life EMS.
