Zeeland's Magical Christmas Parade: 6:15-7:30 p.m. in downtown Zeeland. Kick off the holiday season with the 12th Annual Christmas Tree lighting in downtown Zeeland. The city tree makes its home in Zeeland at the center of the Splash Pad, 21 S. Elm St. The tree will be fully lit by Mayor Kevin Klynstra at 6:15 p.m. Dec. 1. The tree lighting takes place immediately before Zeeland's Magical Christmas Parade, which begins at 6:30 p.m. Join us for a magical night as we kick off the Christmas season.

Due to an unforeseen health issue, Howard Levy is unable to perform with Béla Fleck & The Flecktones on the upcoming Jingle All the Way tour. Celebrating Cultural Traditions | Motherland Cultural Connections: 6-8 p.m. at Frederik Meijer Gardens, 1000 E. Beltline Ave. NE, Grand Rapids. Various cultures will be highlighted, with musical entertainment on Tuesday evenings and corresponding programming on select Saturday afternoons.
Downtown Holland Parade of Lights: 6:30-8 p.m. in downtown Holland. Santa Claus arrives in Downtown Holland during the annual Parade of Lights, escorted by over 80 floats, commercial vehicles, walkers, and marching bands ... all decked out from top to bottom in thousands of sparkling lights. Come see why this brightly lit holiday procession is a holiday tradition for the entire community. The Parade of Lights will begin at the corner of Eighth Street and Columbia Avenue at 6:30 p.m. and will proceed west down Eighth until it reaches the Holland Civic Center Place at 150 W. Eighth St. For the safety of parade attendees, Eighth Street will be closed for parking and traffic by the Holland Police Department beginning at 2 p.m. Dec. 2. Free public parking for the parade can be found in the surface parking lots on Seventh and Ninth streets, in the Seventh and Ninth Street Parking Decks, and at the Holland Civic Center Place. The Parade of Lights is proudly sponsored by Gentex Corp. Be sure to look for them as they lead the parade with a special treat for all the children in attendance. (Note: There will be no other candy out during the parade.)

Knee-high Naturalists: 10-11:30 a.m. at Dragonflies Discovery Preschool, 30 152nd Ave., Holland. Knee-high Naturalists introduces the wonders of the natural world to young children. Crafts, activities, books, snacks, live animals, and outside exploration will be incorporated into their nature-based learning experience. Parents can drop off their 4- to 6-year-old or stay with the class. Parents or guardians are asked to attend with their 3-year-old to help with bathroom use and transitioning into a group learning environment. Suggested age range is 3-6 years old. Guardians drop children off or stay with the class. Registration is required. Register and pay for attending children only (except infants). Fee: $10 per child, $5 for members.

Holiday Kerstmarkt: 3-7 p.m. at Holland Civic Center Place, 150 W. Eighth St., Holland. Get ready for holiday magic at the annual Kerstmarkt in charming Holland, Michigan: a celebration of handmade goods, local artisans, and festive cheer.
45th Annual Coopersville Christmas Parade of Lights: 4-8 p.m. at 375 Main St., Coopersville. Join us for our 45th Annual nighttime Christmas Parade in Coopersville. Stop and see Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Coopersville Farm Museum. Listen to the community band perform at 5:30 p.m. Enjoy hot cocoa and cookies from 4-7 p.m. The Christmas Tree Lighting will be at the Pocket Park at 6:30 p.m., followed by the parade. This is one of the largest fundraisers the Rotary Club of Coopersville holds. The proceeds cover the costs of the event and the Open House at the Coopersville Farm Museum. Leftover proceeds are used to fund Rotary's Grant Opportunities and several other community-wide events.
Feel the Zeel of Christmas: 4-8 p.m. in downtown Zeeland, 21 S. Elm St., Zeeland. Every year, the city of Zeeland partners with a selected, local nonprofit organization to host a series of charming Christmas events downtown. Feel the Zeel of Christmas is a three-day series that celebrates the warmth and nostalgia of the holiday season in a small town. Felt Mansion Candlelight Guided Tours: 5-8 p.m. at The Felt Estate, 6597 138th Ave., Holland. Come to the evening tours of the Felt Mansion by (or partly by) candlelight or soft ambient lighting, often enhanced by holiday lighting and decorations. The mood is more atmospheric than a standard daytime tour — you see the mansion in a more intimate, glowing light, which highlights architectural and decorative details in a different way. As a guided tour, a docent or guide leads visitors through the spaces, providing narration, historical background, stories, and details you might miss on your own.
Sinterklaas Shuffle: 5-8 p.m. in downtown Holland. Join Sinterklaas and his merry crew for a magical journey to festive and faraway places — without ever leaving downtown Holland. Families are invited to celebrate this cherished Dutch tradition as Sinterklaas welcomes visitors to a self-guided holiday adventure. Along the way, you’ll meet skiers in traditional Dutch costumes, the Holland Community Police Team, and even Sinterklaas’ magnificent white horse, Ozosnel. Fennville Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting: 6 p.m. in downtown Fennville. The streets in downtown Fennville will be lined with floats, cars and participants decked out with illuminated lights, moving through the area as dusk gives way to night. The effect is one of sparkle, community cheer, and lighting up Main Street in the holiday spirit. Then come to Hutchinson Garden (which is located at 110 W. Main St., Fennville), where the community will gather around a large tree, which will be lit up in ceremony. The parade will lead to the tree lighting.

Public Star Gazing: 8-10 p.m. at Hemlock Crossing, 8115 West Olive Road, West Olive. The observatory is open from 8-11 p.m. (weather and clear sky permitting). There are no entry fees. Please be aware that the park gate closes automatically at 10 p.m. sharp, therefore, visitors must arrive before then to enter the park. Visible night sky objects: planets, the Moon, deep sky objects like galaxies, star clusters and planetary nebulae.
Winter Jazz, Holland Concert Jazz Orchestra: 7-8:30 p.m. at Park Theatre, 248 S. River Ave., Holland. Celebrate the sounds of the season with Winter Jazz, an unforgettable evening of festive favorites and smooth seasonal tunes performed by the renowned Holland Concert Jazz Orchestra. $24.
The Promise is Jesus: 7-9 p.m. at Knickerbocker Theatre, 86 E. Eighth St., Holland. The Promise weaves the Christmas story together using scripture and Christmas music with Classical and Contemporary Ballet. It features dancers wearing over 200 costumes and allows the audience to experience the beauty of the true Christmas message while celebrating Christ’s birth through dance, storytelling, beautiful music and costumes. Turning Pointe offers God glorifying, family-friendly events. It is our 26th year of The Promise. Adults: $24; students: $19.

Saugatuck Whootville Christmas Parade: 11 a.m.-noon in downtown Saugatuck. The Annual Whootville Christmas Parade in downtown Saugatuck, Michigan, is a festive event held each December, inviting the community to celebrate the holiday season together. Participants lining up at Mason and Griffith at 10:15 a.m. Attendees are encouraged to dress in whimsical Whootville or Christmas-themed attire, adding to the parade’s cheerful atmosphere. This family-friendly event is sponsored by the Saugatuck Douglas Area Convention & Visitors Bureau and is a cherished tradition in the local community.
A Settler Holiday: 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at DeGraaf Nature Center, 600 Graafschap Road, Holland. Join us for A Settler Holiday and experience how early European-American settlers in Michigan prepared for the winter season. Visit a log cabin decorated for the holidays, learn about 19th-century Christmas traditions like hand-dipped candles and decorated trees, and make a practical settler craft to take home.
