District 10 bids a fond farewell to retiring Commissioner Roger Bergman
Grand Haven-area residents gathered Jan. 9, 2025, to celebrate longtime Ottawa County Commissioner Roger Bergman, who retired at the end of 2024.

GRAND HAVEN — Grand Haven-area residents gathered Jan. 9, 2025, to celebrate longtime Ottawa County Commissioner Roger Bergman, who retired at the end of 2024.

Bergman represented District 10 from 2012-2024, representing the cities of Ferrysburg and Grand Haven and Spring Lake Township precincts 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6. The district is now represented by former Grand Haven City Councilman Josh Brugger.

Featured guests were Administrative Health Officer Adeline Hambley, Grand Haven Mayor Bob Monetza, Ottawa County Board Chair John Teeples, state Sen. Roger Victory and John Stalzer from the Spring Lake Volunteer Fire Department.

Ottawa County Road Commissioner Field Reichardt and Dottie Johnson hosted the event. Johnson was the president and CEO of the Council of Michigan Foundations and is a co-founder of the Michigan Nonprofit Association.
