Four Detroit men charged after Allendale armed robbery

ALLENDALE TWP. — Four Detroit-area men are facing felony charges after a 19-year-old Allendale Township man was forced to leap from a second-story window to escape a violent armed robbery on Saturday.

Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call around 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 29 from an apartment at 4967 Pierce St. The victim reported that three men — whom he knew — entered his home, assaulted him and threatened his life while claiming to carry a firearm.

To escape his attackers, the teenager jumped from a second-floor window. He suffered minor injuries from both the assault and the fall.

The suspects stole cash, electronics and other personal items before fleeing the scene.

Investigators quickly identified a suspect vehicle and utilized the Flock Safety Camera System to track its movements across the state. The men were ultimately located in Livingston County, where they were taken into custody with assistance from the Brighton Police Department and the Livingston County Sheriff's Office, and transported back to Ottawa County.

On Monday, Aug. 31, the four 22-year-old suspects were arraigned before Judge Judith Mulder in the 58th District Court.

• Kesean Shorter and Jwane Sanders are charged with first-degree home invasion, armed robbery and unlawful imprisonment.
• Dalon Lyons is charged with armed robbery and unlawful imprisonment.
• Jamon Cassity, identified as the getaway driver, is charged with accessory after the fact to armed robbery.

All four men remain at the Ottawa County Jail on cash or surety bonds ranging from $75,000 to $300,000.

Authorities confirmed that none of the suspects are students at nearby Grand Valley State University.
