GEORGETOWN TWP. — Hundreds turned out for games, snacks and "trunk or treating" at the Georgetown Township Public Library and Ridgewood Christian Reformed Church, which partnered to host Fall Fest on Friday, Oct. 24.

Rob Bristow, director of the Georgetown Township Public Library, led the effort to organize the event. He said one of the purposes of building a new, bigger library was to be able to host community and family-focused events.

"We're all about family activities here," Bristow said.

Around 40 organizations came together, hosting activities like Trunk or Treat, pumpkin decorating, donuts and cider, inflatables, the barrel train, various carnival-style games, and more.

"I appreciate all the support that the community gives us," Bristow said. "We grow every year."

Amanda, who dressed as Princess Mononoke herself, brought her three kids to the event, dressed as Stitch, Death, and a monk.

"This is one of our favorite trunk or treats for the whole season," she said.

Amanda said the variety and number of activities has drawn them back for three years in a row, and that her older kids are still able to enjoy dressing up for this one, too.

Tanya DeOliveira, a planner with Williams & Works, had an activity more targeted at the adults in the community. She was managing a booth that asked people what they wanted to see from their community government for the township Master Plan.

The township had a booth set up to gather opinions for the upcoming Master Plan rework during Georgetown Township's Fall Fest on Friday, Oct. 24, 2025. "The Master Plan is a policy guiding document for land use, growth, perhaps a little bit of transportation and recreation sprinkled in there," DeOliveira said.

The township is at the beginning of a roughly year-long process to review and update the Master Plan. A survey to provide opinions is available through October.
