ZEELAND — As absentee ballots hit mailboxes ahead of the Nov. 3 general election, the Holland Area League of Women Voters is offering West Michigan voters a chance to break down the issues before casting their votes.
The nonpartisan organization will host an informational forum 6:30-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5, in the ballroom of the Howard Miller Library, 14 S. Church St. in Zeeland.
The event will feature a slide presentation examining the arguments for and against both state and local measures appearing on upcoming ballots:
- Statewide proposals: A proposed Michigan Constitutional Convention and campaign finance reform.
- Local proposals: County millages and civic measures impacting Ottawa and Allegan counties.
Following the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in an open Q&A session to discuss the proposals.
