No injuries reported after 2-car crash causes fire in Georgetown
A late-night collision at a busy intersection ended in flames but no injuries Friday night, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.
GEORGETOWN TWP. — A late-night collision at a busy intersection ended in flames but no injuries Friday night, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.
At 10 p.m. on May 1, deputies were dispatched to a two-car crash at Port Sheldon Street and 18th Avenue. Police said the Georgetown Township Fire Department was called in because on of the vehicles was on fire, however all occupants were safely outside their vehicles.

Police said a 2010 Dodge Nitro being driven by a 62-year-old Holland man was traveling northbound on 18th Avenue and had a green light. A 2017 Ford Fusion, being driven by a 33-year-old Wyoming man, was traveling southbound on 18th Avenue and made a left-hand turn in front of the Nitro.
No injuries were reported; the crash remains under investigation, police said.
