Pete was a big NASCAR fan and outdoor enthusiast who loved muzzle-loading and shooting, using authentic flintlock on percussion rifles. He also enjoyed racing and hill climbing on motorcycles. Most dear to his heart was his family and the many friends he made over the years.
Pete will be forever remembered and missed by his loving wife of 45 years, Gwen; daughters, Charmaine (Kevin) Velik (and their son, Joshua Velik), and Alvina (Mike) Pellegrom (and their children, Erica and Christie); son, Jack (Julie) Phipps (and their children, Shelby and Shae) and Robert (Karen) Phipps (and their children, Spencer and Hayden); son, Joseph (Arlene) Jachim; son, Paul (Carol) Jachim (and their children, Diana, Paul, Joanna, and Jacob); son, David Jachim; bonus daughter, Nancy Cook; six great-grandchildren (and one on the way); one great-great-grandson; four sisters: Connie Hanks, Mary Edmond, Sue Milner, and Bonnie Howard; and two brothers, Dan and Guy Phipps.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ralph and Sam Phipps; and two sisters, Anna Erickson and Cindy Lee.

Michael “Mike” Francis Reau, age 68, of Grand Haven, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at home, after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was born on June 1, 1958, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Donald and Kathleen (Ellis) Reau. Mike married Mary Ochs on June 8, 1991, at St. Patrick – St. Anthony Parish in Grand Haven.
Mike graduated from Grand Haven High School, Class of 1976, and worked for Consumers Energy for 43 years before his retirement in 2023. Mike was a loyal Detroit Tigers baseball fan and especially loved watching his sons play baseball and playing catch with them. He also loved watching and feeding the birds from his feeders at home, with hummingbirds being his favorite bird.
Mike was one of a kind, the truest example of a good man. He could fix anything and always had a smile on his face and a story to tell. He was loved by everyone, and he devoted his entire life to taking care of his family.
