Officials: Building fire at Spring Lake Twp. foundry likely caused by welding, no injuries reported
No injuries were reported Sunday evening after a fire was reported at a Spring Lake Township manufacturing company.
SPRING LAKE TWP. — No injuries were reported Sunday evening after a fire was reported at a Spring Lake Township manufacturing company.
Just before 9:30 p.m. April 5, police and 11 responding fire agencies responded to a fire at Linamar Structures, 14638 Apple Drive in Spring Lake Township.
Officials said the fire was determined to be accidental and related to welding work. No evidence of arson was reported.
A damage estimate has not been released. It is also unknown how the incident will affect plant operations.
The plant manufactures lightweight, safety-critical components for the global vehicle market, including structural and chassis systems.
All employees were safely evacuated with no reported injuries and no chemical exposure was reported, police said.
