Authorities are investigating a single-vehicle rollover crash that claimed the life of a Grand Rapids man on Wednesday afternoon.
ZEELAND TWP. — Authorities are investigating a single-vehicle rollover crash that claimed the life of a Grand Rapids man on Wednesday afternoon.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene at about 10:30 a.m. April 8 on the westbound side of I-196 near the 53-mile marker, following reports of a one-vehicle crash accident involving an ejection.

According to preliminary findings from the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, a vehicle traveling eastbound veered off the roadway for unknown reasons. The vehicle descended a shoulder embankment before striking several trees and overturning.
The driver — identified only as a 32-year-old male from Grand Rapids — was the sole occupant of the vehicle. Investigators confirmed the man was ejected during the collision and suffered fatal injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
