GEORGETOWN TWP. — Four people were injured Tuesday afternoon after a driver ran a red light and caused a chain reaction involving four vehicles in Georgetown Township.
Just after 4 p.m. on March 17, Ottawa County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a report of a multi-car personal-injury crash at the intersection of 18th Avenue and Rosewood Street in Georgetown Township.
Police say a 2025 Chevy Silverado driven by a 45-year-old Hudsonville man was traveling north on 18th Avenue when he ran the red light at Rosewood Street. The Silverado was hit by a 2014 Honda Odyssey traveling west on Rosewood St, driven by a 38-year-old Hudsonville woman.
After the impact from the Honda, the Silverado crossed the center line of 18th Avenue and crashed into a third vehicle that was stopped in the southbound lane at the red light for Rosewood Street. The third vehicle was then pushed backward and collided with a fourth vehicle stopped behind it at the red light.
The driver of the Silverado suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital to be treated.
One other vehicle occupant from the stopped vehicles reported minor injuries but was treated and released at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
Georgetown Township Fire Department and LIFE EMS assisted at the scene.
