Holland Human Relations Commission to host class on parliamentary procedures

HOLLAND — Community members, local leaders, and students looking to run fairer, more effective meetings are invited to a Parliamentary Procedures workshop hosted by the City of Holland Human Relations Commission on Tuesday, Oct. 13.
Presented in partnership with the Michigan Municipal League, the two-hour training will cover core meeting fundamentals, including making and handling motions, voting procedures, understanding meeting rules, and navigating participant roles.
The session will run 6-8 p.m. in the second-floor training room at Holland City Hall, 270 S. River Ave.

Organizers say the skills taught are adaptable for a wide range of groups, from civic boards and municipal bodies to local clubs and school organizations.
While the workshop is free and open to the public, advance registration is required. Residents can register online or by contacting Nancy Niewoonder at 616-355-1319.
