Patrick "Pato" Mostyn

December 9, 1944-May 2, 2026

Patrick “Pato” Mostyn, 81, was born on December 9, 1944, in Brownsville, Texas, and passed away on May 2, 2026.

A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Pato will be remembered for the steady way he put others first and for the quiet generosity that shaped his home, his friendships, and his community.

Raised in Brownsville as one of 13 children, Pato was born to Patrick S. Mostyn and Teofila Sifuentes, both of whom preceded him in death. The values formed early in life — care for family, respect for others, and a willingness to give of himself — remained constant throughout his years.

Pato met his wife, Isabel, during high school, and they were married in 1964. In 1965, they moved to Milwaukee before finally settling in Michigan, where they spent the rest of their lives together. Over 61 — nearly 62 — years of marriage, Pato and Isabel built a life marked by enduring love, shared faith, and countless memories, raising five children along the way. Among the family’s fondest recollections is time spent on a friend’s farm in Fennville, where music and food were plentiful, laughter came easily, and the days were made unforgettable — even including the occasional leap from barn rafters.

Though Pato worked in manufacturing through most of his life, it was music that truly held his heart. He loved music of all kinds and was often seen with a guitar close at hand, and with what many considered his finest instrument — his voice. He played concerts and events over the years, and even had the opportunity to play alongside a childhood friend, Freddy Fender, before he became widely known. Pato’s love of music became a gift he freely shared, inspiring many in his family to pick up instruments and find their own voices.

Pato also found joy in gardening, tending to flowers as readily as fruits and vegetables. In these simple, faithful routines, his generous spirit showed itself again — always cultivating, always providing, always taking satisfaction in what could be grown and shared.

Known as a kind jokester, Pato delighted in harmless pranks and especially loved April Fool’s Day. Yet beneath the humor was a deeply selfless man — one whose life was rooted in faith, family, and a love that endured through every season.

Pato is survived by his wife, Isabel Mostyn; daughters, Patricia Mostyn Alderton, Elizabeth (Gilbert) Sanchez, Brenda Mostyn, and Neomi Mostyn Ramirez; and by his brother, Eugenio Valdivez. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Patrick S. Mostyn; his mother, Teofila Sifuentes; and his son, Jeffery Mostyn.

Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. on May 9, 2026, at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James St., Holland. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. May 9, 2026, at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James St., Holland.

Phoebe Louise Woehl

June 24, 1937-May 2, 2026

Phoebe “Louise” Rule Woehl was born on June 24, 1937, in Toledo, Ohio, and went to be with Jesus in Holland, Michigan, on May 2, 2026.

She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She had an insatiable love for learning, and at any given moment could be found studying either the Periodic table, Hahnemann’s Homeopathic Repertory, human physiology, various languages or cookbooks and just about everything in between. She loved her people deeply and unconditionally. She was profoundly loyal and we will treasure so many special memories of her.

Louise was the oldest of three daughters born to Ralph and Phoebe Rule. She leaves behind her husband, Daniel; daughters, Heidi (Jeff Harlow) and Jennie; grandchildren, Erika (Ryan and their sons, David, Dietrich, Daniel and Jeremiah), Stewart (Hannah and their daughters, Eliana, Sophia, Greta and Lucy); Abigail (Mitch), Caleb (Hanna), Blake, Jonathan, AmySue and AnnaJoyce; her youngest sister, Jean (Frank Allan); and many special nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Sue Saint Vincent; her parents and in-laws; her nephew, Greg Saint Vincent, and her sister, Elaine (Dave Macnab).

Louise graduated with her RN diploma from Flower Hospital School of Nursing in Toledo, Ohio. Following this, she went on to study microbiology at the University of Pittsburgh, graduating with her bachelor’s degree. Her husband, Dan, was very proud of her and was usually the one to share that she was also a member of Phi Beta Kappa National Honor Society.

She held a variety of jobs, which included working as a nurse in a small ICU, as a school nurse, home health nurse, and in her final job, she quietly ministered to people one-on-one with her homeopathic practice. She would have been the first to say, however, that her most important jobs were those of wife, mom, and grandma. She taught multiple grandchildren how to sew and knit, passed along her love of gardening, and also shared her love for cooking healthy meals from scratch.

Sixty-three years ago, she married Dan in Toledo, OH, moved to California, and became a happy transplant to “God’s country” on the Central Coast of CA. There, she and Dan loved raising their family in the country, surfing the Pacific, or traveling throughout our beautiful Nation.

More than anything, she was a devoted follower of Jesus, and one of the special ministries she and Dan shared was ministering to prisoners and their spouses in the California prison system in San Luis Obispo, CA. She also had a heart for the persecuted church and anyone who was hurting, and in her own special way did what she could to be the hands and feet of Jesus in a broken world.

We are so grateful for the loving care she received at Royal Park Atrium, followed by Cortland of Holland Memory Care. Additionally, we cannot say enough about the kindness shown to Louise and her family by Faith Hospice, who loved her well to the end. We also want to thank the physicians at Lakewood Family Medicine, particularly Drs Beth Peter and Kurt Lindberg, for their kindness to our family.

“How precious is your lovingkindness, Oh God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings.” ~ Psalm 36:7.

Visitation is planned for 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26, at 14th Street Christian Reformed Church in Holland, followed immediately by a service to remember Louise, which will be at 11 a.m. Light lunch to follow. A private burial will take place prior to the visitation.
