Phyllis Jean Anderson
September 1, 1932-October 19, 2026
Phyllis “PJ” Anderson (Lotterman), age 94, passed away on October 19, 2026.
PJ was born September 1, 1932, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Henry and Minnie (DeBoer) Lotterman. PJ was affectionately known as “the Blonde” and “the Queen.” She didn’t need to tell jokes; she was just funny and laughed easily. She loved shopping, especially hunting for a good deal. It didn’t matter if she already had two in the same color — a deal was a deal! One of her favorite sayings was, “The time to take a donut is when they are being passed.” It was funny, practical, and very PJ: enjoy the good things when they come your way, appreciate the moment you’re in, and, with her Dutch sensibility, don’t ever waste a delicious treat.
She is survived by her children, Thomas Huizinga and Shawn Moore, and ChiChi (Sandra Huizinga) and Ken Van Dyke; grandchildren, Matt and Kelly Day, Jason and Megan Day, Stephanie (Day) and Rudy Gesch, Kristi (Huizinga) and Steve Bottrall, Kellie (Huizinga) and Jeff Harlukowicz, Danielle Van Dyke, Keri (Van Dyke) and Nick Cote, and Ross Arce (VanDyke); 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
PJ was preceded in death by her husband, John Anderson; daughter, Pamela (Huizinga) Day; siblings, Ed Lotterman, Don Lotterman, Lois Brands, Arlene Kraai; and her twin brother, Phil Lotterman.
She will be remembered as a devoted and selfless caregiver. When her daughter battled breast cancer, PJ was there throughout, caring diligently for her and her family, sharing laughter during difficult moments, holding hands, offering comfort, and warming hearts in the special way that only PJ could.
PJ spent her life caring deeply for the people around her, hunting for a good deal, and finding humor in every day. She truly was special, and she will be deeply missed.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Corewell Health Hospice and Sunset Manor for the tender and loving care they provided PJ over the past year.
The family will honor PJ with a private celebration of life. The family welcomes memories and messages at cookcaresgrandville.com in their guestbook online.

Terri Lynn Muskovin
March 22, 1956-October 22, 2026
Terri Lynn Muskovin, age 70, of Holland, Michigan, was born in Holland, Michigan, on March 22, 1956, and passed away on October 22, 2026.
Terri was one of three children born to Donna and Preston Vander Slik, and she grew up as the middle child in a close-knit family. During her childhood, her father owned and operated a service station, and Terri often helped there — taking special joy in pumping gas and lending a hand wherever it was needed, a quiet reflection of the generous spirit that would mark her life.
Terri attended West Ottawa High School and graduated in 1974. After graduation, she began working and held several roles in the community, with her fondest being her time as a food service worker for Van Raalte Elementary School. Her care for others was evident in the way she served, and her devotion showed in the pride she took in supporting the children and families she saw each day.
In 1980, Terri met Eric Muskovin, and on October 29, 1981, the two were married. Together they raised their two children, Matthew Muskovin and Erica Boersma, who attended the same elementary school where Terri worked. Their family remained in the same house for their entire lives, a testament to the steady, devoted home Terri helped build — one rooted in love, consistency, and faith.
When Terri was not at work, she was often found outside working on her tan, tending to her flowers, or reading her next inspirational book. She loved children, and she especially loved being a grandparent to Noah Boersma and Charlotte Boersma. At church, she became affectionately known as “the sucker lady,” faithfully bringing Dum-Dum suckers to share after services — often drawing a long line of children who knew they would be met with kindness and a sweet treat.
A devoted Christian throughout her life, Terri’s faith was central to who she was. When she was nine years old, her father helped found Calvary Baptist Church, and from those early years forward, her faithful commitment remained a steady guide and comfort as she remained a member of the congregation until her passing.
In 1998, Terri made the decision to retire from Van Raalte Elementary School due to failing health. She was later diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, which she faced with enduring faith and steadfast devotion to her family.
Terri is survived by her husband, Eric Muskovin; her son, Matthew Muskovin; her daughter, Erica (Scott) Boersma; her grandchildren, Noah Boersma and Charlotte Boersma; her sister, Gail (Alan) Overway; and her brother, Ronald (Jacki) Vander Slik; many nieces and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Preston and Donna Vander Slik, and niece Amy Vander Slik.
Honoring Terri's wishes, there will be no funeral service. Instead, the family invites friends and family to pay their respects 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, November 1, at Calvary Baptist Church, 517 32nd St., Holland.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the care team at Resthaven.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Resthaven Care Centers in memory of Terri.

March 22, 1938-October 21, 2026
Judith Ann Smith, 88, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2026, at Quincy Place Senior Living in Holland, Michigan.
Judy was born in Traverse City on March 22, 1938, to Emma Lulu (Anderson) Dechow and Carl Everett Dechow.
She graduated from high school in Elk Rapids, where her father was a math teacher and science teacher.
She met her husband, Dwight, in a practice room at Central Michigan University, where they were both music students.
They were married on April 20, 1957.
Life and career changes took them to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, East Jordan, Lansing, Litchfield, Chelsea, Elk Rapids, Mancelona and finally, post-retirement, to their much-loved home in northern Michigan near Bellaire and winters in Florida.
Judy completed her elementary education degree at CMU in 1974 and for many years taught in various schools as a long-term substitute.
She was also proud to serve as the wedding consultant at Milliken’s in Traverse City. Music was a big part of her life, and she played clarinet in community bands with Dwight long into their retirement.
She had a beautiful singing voice and participated for many years in the church choir at Bellaire’s Church in the Hills, as well as the Antrim Community Choir.
She and Dwight also shared a lifelong enjoyment of gardening and camping. Each summer Judy would can, freeze, and make jams and jellies.
She was an accomplished seamstress and quilter, and left her family many beautiful examples of her work. Despite suffering from seasickness, she was also a frequent fishing partner for Dwight.
And nobody could eat more ice cream. Judy’s greatest role in life was being Mom.
