MUSKEGON — Authorities are turning to the public for urgent help in locating a vulnerable 77-year-old Grand Haven man who vanished from a Muskegon hospital earlier this week.
According to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office, deputies received a missing person report at approximately 2:45 p.m. on Thursday, July 16. Investigators learned that Dennis King had been admitted to Trinity Health Hospital in Muskegon on Monday, July 13.
Shortly after his arrival, King walked out of the facility on foot and has not been seen since.
Police say the situation is critical. King suffers from dementia and several serious medical conditions that require daily medication. He has been without his life-sustaining prescriptions for four days. Furthermore, King left behind his walker, which he relies on for mobility.
Compounding the urgency, King recently relocated to Grand Haven, is completely unfamiliar with the local area, and has no known contacts nearby besides his daughter, who reported him missing. He does not carry a cellphone and is unable to use one.
King was last seen in Muskegon on Sherman Boulevard, between US-31 and Utah Street.
Investigators said King is a white male, 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing approximately 215 pounds, with gray hair. He was last seen wearing black-rimmed prescription glasses, a light blue or aqua zip-up jacket, black pants and black-and-white shoes.
