The Ottawa County Bar Association is pleased to announce that the 2026 Elise Joy Frantz Scholarship has been awarded to Riley Jernigan of Holland.
HOLLAND — The Ottawa County Bar Association is pleased to announce that the 2026 Elise Joy Frantz Scholarship has been awarded to Riley Jernigan of Holland.
Jernigan is a senior at West Ottawa High School who, after graduation, intends to pursue a degree in political theory and constitutional democracy at Michigan State University – James Madison College.

She has a passion for the law and policy, and a strong desire to positively influence both her community and abroad. Her extracurricular activities include West Ottawa Student Senate, West Ottawa Principal’s Advisory Board, membership in the National Honors Society, varsity golf, and junior varsity tennis.
Jernigan is an exceptional student, leader, and a person of high moral character. These attributes make her well deserving of the Elise Joy Frantz Scholarship presented by the Ottawa County Bar Association and Haworth Helps.
Jernigan was selected for the $3,000 grant from applicants representing many Ottawa County area high schools.
