Park Twp.'s Pump House Museum names historian Alisa Crawford as first executive director
Marking a major operational milestone, the Historic Ottawa Beach Society has named veteran historian Alisa Crawford as the first-ever executive director of the Pump House Museum and Learning Center.
PARK TWP. — Marking a major operational milestone, the Historic Ottawa Beach Society has named veteran historian Alisa Crawford as the first-ever executive director of the Pump House Museum and Learning Center.
The leadership appointment follows a comprehensive strategic planning process by the HOBS Board of Directors, aimed at guiding the institution into its next phase of organizational growth and community outreach.
Crawford brings deep expertise in historic preservation and site management to the role. She holds a Master’s degree in History Museum Studies—with a specialized focus on living history museums and historic mills—and a Bachelor of Arts in History. An accomplished researcher, Crawford authored the award-winning book "De Zwaan: The True Story of America’s Authentic Dutch Windmill" and previously served on the board of the Association for Living History, Farm and Agricultural Museums.
"I am excited to work with the Historic Ottawa Beach Society and the Pump House Museum to build on their amazing progress and move the museum forward in its next chapter," Crawford said.
Located at 2282 Ottawa Beach Road, the Pump House Museum is operated by HOBS, a local nonprofit dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich history of Ottawa Beach, Lake Macatawa, and the surrounding shoreline communities.
