Suspect arrested after domestic stabbing at Allendale apartment
A domestic dispute at an apartment complex in Allendale Township led to a police search and the eventual arrest of a suspect Thursday after one person was stabbed and another was assaulted.
ALLENDALE TWP. — A domestic dispute at an apartment complex in Allendale Township led to a police search and the eventual arrest of a suspect Thursday after one person was stabbed and another was assaulted.
Deputies with the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of a stabbing at the Enclave Apartments. Officers from the Grand Valley State University Department of Public Safety and troopers from the Michigan State Police also responded to assist at the scene.
A preliminary investigation showed that the incident stemmed from a domestic violence dispute. During the altercation, one victim was stabbed in the hand and a second victim was assaulted.
The suspect, who was known to both victims, fled the area before officers arrived. Michigan State Police troopers located and arrested the suspect a short time later.
Medical personnel treated the stabbing victim for a minor wound, and authorities said a full recovery is expected. The second victim was not injured.

Police are withholding the suspect's identity pending formal charges and arraignment.
The incident remains under investigation by the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office.
