Unity Christian football eyes next opponent in state title run

This weekend, Unity Christian will play in the Division 4 state semifinal as it vies for a state football championship in the 2025 Michigan High School Football playoffs.

The Crusaders will face the Vicksburg Bulldogs, who are playing in their first-ever regional championship on Saturday.

• Division 4: Unity Christian (11-1) vs. Vicksburg (8-4)
• When: 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22 
• Where: Caledonia High School (Ralph E. Myers Stadium)

Unity Christian has won three playoff games this season, defeating Holland Christian (53-42), Spring Lake (34-19) and Big Rapids (52-14).

The Crusaders have advanced to the playoffs 15 times since 2008. This year, they won the regional crown for the first time since 2021. They are seeking their second state championship to go with the banner they hoisted in the 2018 season when they won the Division 5 championship.

The victor will compete against the winner of Goodrich (12-0) vs. Divine Child (11-1) in the state final at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, at Ford Field in Detroit.

Two other West Michigan teams also will be competing in their division semifinal, including Lowell (9-2), which just won its first regional title since 2016, and Grand Rapids West Catholic (11-1), which just earned its first regional title since 2022.

Lowell will face Mt. Pleasant (12-0) at Greenville High School in the Division 3 semifinal, while Grand Rapids West Catholic will face Ogemaw Heights (11-1) at Brookwood Athletic Complex in Clare in the Division 5 semifinal. Both games are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22.
