84-year-old driver hospitalized after SUV crashes into Jamestown Twp. business
An 84-year-old Hudsonville man was hospitalized Saturday morning after his SUV veered off the road and crashed into a local business, causing significant structural damage.
JAMESTOWN TWP. — An 84-year-old Hudsonville man was hospitalized Saturday morning after his SUV veered off the road and crashed into a local business, causing significant structural damage.
Emergency crews responded to the single-vehicle accident at the intersection of 32nd Avenue and Riley Street at approximately 11:20 a.m., according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.
Police said the driver was traveling southbound on 32nd Avenue in a GMC Acadia when he crossed over the northbound lanes and struck the Jamestown Lawn and Rental building, located on the southeast corner of the intersection.
Authorities believe a medical emergency may have precipitated the crash.

The driver was treated at the scene and transported by Life EMS to a Grand Rapids area hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening. No other injuries were reported.
Jamestown Township Fire Department personnel assisted at the scene, providing patient care and evaluating the structural integrity of the damaged building.
The incident remains under investigation.
