Bill Steffen's weekend forecast: Jan. 2-4

• Dry day and cold for Friday, with Saturday having snow in the afternoon; half an inch accumulation is expected. Temperatures will be in the low to mid-20s through Sunday.
• The skies will remain overcast through the weekend.
• Temperatures will rise into the low to mid-30s by the beginning of the week with more precipitation expected.
• The main roads are in good shape, with some slick spots still on sidewalks and driveways.
