Bill Steffen's weekend forecast: March 6-8

• Friday will see our first 60-degree day this spring. High temperatures this weekend will remain in the high 50s and low 60s, but will dip down into the 40s late next week.
• The warm weather will bring May showers, with showers and thunderstorms, mostly in the afternoon. Saturday will have a strong chance of showers and Sunday will be dry and partly sunny.
• Winds will be blustery on Friday, with the change of temperature, with wind gusts of 20-25 mph, but should settle by Saturday and into Sunday.

Fast fact: Our average temperature is 40, so this is an unseasonably warm 5 days. Thursday evening, the average temperature for the contiguous U.S. was 7.9 degrees warmer than average.
