Investigation underway after body found on Lake Michigan shore
Authorities are investigating after a body was discovered Friday, Jan. 9, along the Lake Michigan shoreline in Park Township, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.
PARK TWP. — Authorities are investigating after a body was discovered Friday, Jan. 9, along the Lake Michigan shoreline in Park Township, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.
A person walking along the beach discovered the remains, which appeared to have washed up on the shore. Sheriff’s deputies were alerted to the scene at approximately 2:24 p.m. Friday.
Patrol units and detectives responded to the location to begin a death investigation.

As of Friday evening, officials had not released the identity of the individual or a suspected cause of death.
In a news release, authorities stated there is currently no known threat to the public.
The investigation remains active, and authorities indicated that additional details will be provided as they become available.
