Motorcyclist injured after striking dog in Olive Twp.
A 58-year-old West Olive man was seriously injured Sunday evening after the motorcycle he was riding struck a dog in the road in Olive Township.
OLIVE TWP. — A 58-year-old West Olive man was seriously injured Sunday evening after the motorcycle he was riding struck a dog in the road in Olive Township.
Just after 5 p.m., the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office responded to 136th Avenue near Barry Street in Olive Township.
Preliminary investigation shows that the motorcycle was traveling north on 136th Avenue and collided with a dog in the roadway. The motorcycle then went off the roadway on the east side before colliding with several mailboxes.
The motorcyclist was transported to an area hospital by AMR Ambulance with serious injuries.
Police said the dog did not survive the collision and was returned to the property owner, who lived nearby.
This traffic crash remains under investigation by the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office.
