Nancy L. (Blindauer) Spencer

Nancy Lou Spencer, age 81, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026, at Grand Pines Assisted Living.
She was born on October 4, 1944, in Grand Haven, Michigan, to the late Vincent and Alice (Bloom) Blindauer. Nancy married Kenneth Spencer on February 28, 1964, in Spring Lake. He preceded her in death on February 18, 2016.
Nancy graduated from Grand Haven High School. A longtime member of Hope Reformed Church, where she participated in Bible study, helped with grief packets, sang in the church choir, and taught Sunday School as well. Nancy enjoyed sewing and doing crafts, going to the beach, and swimming, but especially liked spending time with her grandchildren.
Nancy is survived by her daughters, Sue (Andy) Velas, Kendra (Brian) Kalman, Becky (Jeff) Miller; her five grandchildren: Josh (Becca) Holtzclaw, Logan (Cass Ryder) Holtzclaw, Lexie (Martin) Gonzalez, Johnny Miller, Abby (Zach) Steuck; four great-grandchildren: Olivia, Scarlett, Reid, and Coen Holtzclaw; and her beloved dog, Pal. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Grand Pines, along with Optimal Hospice, for the excellent care Nancy received.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ken; brother, Vincent Blindauer; sister, Irene Mengel; sister-in-law, Janet Spencer; brother-in-law, Gerald Mengel; and parents-in-law, Frances and Velda Spencer.
The memorial service for Nancy will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Hope Church, with Pastor Tim Taylor officiating. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, at Klaassen Family Funeral Home, as well as one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at Hope Church.
