GEORGETOWN TWP. — A 40-year-old Jenison man was killed early Thursday morning following a head-on collision involving a car and a motorcycle in Georgetown Township.
According to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the scene at the intersection of Baldwin and Main streets at approximately 6:15 a.m.
Investigators determined that the victim was riding a Triumph motorcycle eastbound on Baldwin Street when a westbound Toyota Sequoia, driven by a 60-year-old Jenison man, crossed over into oncoming traffic and struck the motorcycle head-on.
The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Toyota was not injured.
