OLIVE TWP. — One person was killed, and four others were critically injured Monday afternoon following a two-vehicle collision involving an SUV and a cement truck at the intersection of 120th Avenue and Stanton Street.
First responders from the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office, along with fire and rescue crews from Olive and Robinson townships, were dispatched to the scene at approximately 2:20 p.m. following reports of multiple occupants pinned inside the SUV.
According to preliminary investigative findings, a 2016 Phoenix cement mixer was traveling northbound on 120th Avenue when a westbound 2024 Toyota carrying five people failed to yield the right-of-way at the Stanton Street intersection.
One passenger in the Toyota suffered fatal injuries. Emergency medical personnel transported the four remaining occupants — all in critical condition — to local hospitals via Aero Med helicopter and AMR ambulances. The driver of the cement truck was not reported injured.

Names of the victims are currently being withheld pending further investigation and family notification.
Authorities shut down the intersection of 120th Avenue and Stanton Street while crash reconstructionists worked to clear the site and gather evidence.
The collision remains under active investigation by the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office.
