HOLLAND — On any given Wednesday or Friday morning along Hoover Boulevard in Holland, Michigan, the doors on the north side of the building at number 347 swing open to a space designed for nourishment — both physical and emotional.
Through the end of 2026, Ottawa County Community Mental Health is hosting weekly pop-up food pantries and community open house days from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Made possible by a grant from Trinity Health, the initiative invites local residents to drop in, fill a provided tote bag with fresh produce and packaged goods, and connect directly with community resources.
Yet behind the pantry tables sits an equally vital offering: a direct line to mental health support.
Alongside the groceries, visitors have the unique opportunity to meet and chat with a behavioral health crisis responder in an informal, welcoming setting. Shared alongside the Sobar Recovery Community Center, the space aims to demystify mental health care, breaking down barriers by integrating behavioral support into an everyday essential — getting food on the table.

Visitors are also invited to complete an optional, anonymous survey while browsing, helping OCCMH gather local input that will shape the evolution of future services.
"Come visit us and learn more about how we put the Community in Community Mental Health," the organization shared, signaling a community-first vision that extends beyond immediate relief. Looking ahead, OCCMH anticipates expanding its walk-in hours and service offerings at the Hoover Boulevard location in early 2027.
