The Ottawa County Road Commission has scheduled roundabout construction work at the intersection of Port Sheldon Street and 120th Avenue in Olive Township.

WHY: Roundabout construction
BACKGROUND: The Ottawa County Road Commission has scheduled roundabout construction work at the intersection of Port Sheldon Street and 120th Avenue in Olive Township.
The contractor intends to close the intersection and begin work on Monday, June 1. It is currently anticipated that work on the project will conclude on or around July 10; however, all dates are tentative and work is weather-dependent.
Work consists of removing the existing roadway approximately 500 feet to 700 feet in all directions from the center of the intersection, excavating and constructing the new roadway alignment in each approach of the intersection, installing storm sewer drainage pipes, pouring concrete curb and the center island of the roundabout, paving a new asphalt surface, driveway approaches, and placing permanent signing and pavement markings.
TRAFFIC IMPACT:
Both Port Sheldon Street and 120th Avenue will be closed to traffic during work on this project.
Detour route for the Port Sheldon Street: 136th Avenue to Tyler Street to 112th Avenue.
Detour route for 120th Avenue: New Holland Street to 112th Avenue to Tyler Street.
Access to Crisp Country Acres can be made by heading north on 120th Avenue from the south.
Access to South Olive Christian Reformed Church can be made by heading east on Port Sheldon Street or south on 120th Avenue.
