HOLLAND — The annual Found Cottage Mercantile Market returns to Holland this Labor Day weekend, bringing together more than 140 vendors offering vintage goods, antiques, apparel, artisan pottery, and original artwork.

What launched nine years ago as a modest gathering hosted by Abby Hoppen, Lisa Van Dyke, and Liz Galvan — owners of the brick-and-mortar boutique The Found Cottage in Hudsonville — has grown into a major regional event. Last year's market drew roughly 9,000 attendees to West Michigan.

"It was born out of something we love to do, and that's treasure hunting," said co-founder Abby Hoppen.

After launching their Hudsonville storefront at 2460 Chicago Drive, the trio quickly recognized a gap in the local retail landscape for a curated, large-scale outdoor market. Over the past nine years, the event has expanded far beyond its original vendor roster while maintaining its welcoming community atmosphere.

Event schedule, ticket information

  • Dates: 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5
  • General admission: $20 online for two-day access ($25 at the gate); $10 for Saturday only.
