GRAND HAVEN TWP. — A 73-year-old Holland man is in critical condition following a two-vehicle crash Saturday morning along US-31 in Grand Haven Township.

Emergency responders, including Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies and the Grand Haven Township Fire Department, were dispatched to the intersection of US-31 and 152nd Avenue just before 11 a.m.

According to preliminary findings from investigators, the man was riding his motorcycle northbound on US-31 when a pickup truck pulling a trailer pulled onto the highway from 152nd Avenue directly into his path.

The driver of the pickup, a 46-year-old man from West Olive, forced the motorcyclist to lay down his bike, causing the rider to slide into the side of the truck.
