Two injured in Georgetown Twp. crash that shut down traffic
Two drivers were hospitalized Monday afternoon following a two-vehicle collision on 44th Street that shut down westbound traffic for approximately an hour, authorities said.
GEORGETOWN TWP. — Two drivers were hospitalized Monday afternoon following a two-vehicle collision on 44th Street that shut down westbound traffic for approximately an hour, authorities said.
According to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, emergency crews responded to the scene just west of Kenowa Avenue at 1:28 p.m. on May 18.
An initial investigation revealed that a 21-year-old Wyoming woman was traveling westbound on 44th Street in a Hyundai Elantra when an eastbound Chrysler Town & Country, driven by a 73-year-old Hudsonville man, turned left directly into her path.

Both drivers suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the wreck; they both were transported to local hospitals for treatment.
First responders from the Georgetown Township Fire Department assisted at the scene with patient care and traffic control. While the roadway has since reopened, the crash remains under active investigation by the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office.
