SPRING LAKE TWP. — Authorities are investigating an early morning burglary at a local auto parts store that led to a high-damage, single-vehicle crash and a missing driver on Aug. 7.
Deputies with the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a crash near 138th Avenue and Leonard Street, where they found an abandoned, heavily damaged vehicle. Given the severity of the wreckage, investigators suspect anyone inside likely suffered serious injuries.
Further investigation revealed the abandoned vehicle had been stolen during an early morning break-in at Bisacky Auto Parts, formerly known as Joe’s Auto Parts in Spring Lake Township. Intruders damaged the business and fled with property that, combined with the structural damage, is estimated to exceed $15,000.
